• Natural counterpart: Derived from HIV’s own gp41 protein (viral, not human).
• Target enzyme / receptor: HIV-1 gp41 envelope protein (binds the viral fusion machinery)
• Signalling pathway: Blocks gp41 six-helix-bundle formation → prevents viral–cell membrane fusion
  In plain terms: Physically blocks HIV from fusing with and entering human cells.
